I am addicted, admittedly, to Google Reader. I love congregating all the blogs I read and love in one place. They have changed over the years (!) that I’ve had it, though. So I thought I’d share what blogs I never skip, the ones I anticipate most.
- Auxiliares blogs, but especially: Liz, Cat, Elizabeth, Gillian, and Kelly.
- Erik’s blog. He writes about his life as an expat married to a Spaniard in northern Spain. I really like his blog because he writes about raising his daughter bilingually, something I’d like to do in the future.
- Hayley and Kristen. They both have Spanish novios (so does Cat!) and understand the whole bilingual, cross-cultural, transatlantic relationship thing.
- Joy the Baker. I just think she’s hilarious (listen to her podcast!) and her food varies from Lemon Raspberry Breakfast Rolls, Whole Wheat Flat Bread with Herb Yogurt Cucumber Dip, and Cold Avocado Soup with Sweet Corn and Bacon.
- Harry Potter Facts. So I can carry on with my unrelenting HP obsession. What?
- I love infographics. So Daily Infographic is perfect.
- It’s not a blog, but I am on Pinterest a lot. Be my friend? It’s how I found some of the funny / neat pictures below:
So, what about y’all? Tell me what blogs you can’t help but read!
Thanks so much for the shout-out, Kaley! I love the coffee poster as well.
I am ALSO a google reader addict and keep adding more. I am a faithful reader of yours and Kristen’s blogs and I also read Love & Paella in terms of Spain blogs! I subscribe to a lot of blogs on my reader, but my other “musts” are Carrots N Cake, Peanut Butter Fingers (although I’m not too crazy about her blog, it keeps me hooked for some reason), Skinny Runner, and then another LA girl who is a runner/law student called Left Coast Contessa.
This was a good post idea – I might steal it eventually – I love finding new blogs!
oh and I also loveee Healthy Tipping Point
Dude, thanks for the shout out! I wish I updated as much as everyone else on here. You have some mad skills to be workin’ and bloggin’. Keep up the good work!
You have great taste in blogs! That second entry sounds particularly intriguing and worth everyone subscribing to. I admit to being a little addicted to yours, too.
You’re a good writer. I hope you keep it up. The expat thing is easy to milk for a while, but I’ve found that even when I’m visiting The Motherland for extended periods of time, my blogger mentality keeps me finding things to write about.
This isn’t a blog but you should definitely check out this article: http://www.publishersweekly.com/pw/by-topic/childrens/childrens-industry-news/article/48370-the-magic-of-pottermore.html. And Pottermore!
I think now is the perfect post if any to pimp out my blog, http://www.siestayfiesta.weebly.com
I started out about a month ago, but i’m another avid Spaniard in training, and love to write…so I hope to get some followers! :)
I’ve bookmarked several of your suggestions! There is another that I wasn’t sure if you mentioned: La Tortuga Viajera at http://www.latortugaviajera.com/ is married to a Spaniard and living in Spain, traveling a lot! Enjoy
I LOOOVE Google Reader. (now) lol
Honestly until getting to read all of the auxiliar blogs I hadn’t fully taken advantage of it.
Now I’m on all the time and love just getting everyone’s updates without missing a beat.
Thanks for the love! I too use google reader. How would I know what to do when I open my computer without it! :) One of my favorite blogs is Fancy That Fancy This – http://fancythatfancythis.com/ – an LA wife and mom – hilarious – honest stories about her life!
Yay, a fellow Harry Potter fan! I don’t seem to find many in Madrid… When I went to go see the last movie, many Spaniards made fun of me jaja, but at the last minute I was able to find some Americans to watch the movie with (en original)
I too am addicted to Google reader…to the point that I probably am following far too many blogs on there (particularly auxiliares blogs, trying to figure out what is best to do on my own auxiliar blog…). Yours is one of my faves though! Also, I too am a huge Harry Potter fan. I follow The Leaky Cauldron on Google reader to keep up with all the latest.
I read your blog through Google Reader. Love it. It is so much easier than going all over the web to get everyone’s blogs and the news! BTW – I am a new auxiliar getting ready to go to Cádiz in a little more than 3 weeks!
Hi Kaley!
I don’t use Google Reader, but bloglovin’ instead and I really like it because I can see all the pics and frames, etc. I think I’ll be adding yours too because I find it very entertaining! :)
Another Google Reader fan :) I like the Daily Infographics blog — thanks for sharing! I added it to my list. I like to read GOOD, which has an entire section for infographics that you can subscribe to via RSS. The only personal blogs I read are auxiliars, though, and that’s recent since people started posting them on Facebook. I love looking at all the pictures.
